Introduction: After the implementation of the training program for organ donation coordinators (ODC's) in the Netherlands, there was a desire to evaluate this program. The aim is to assess the quality of the ODC training program on content and process and to adjust the program when needed, to improve the quality. Full assessment of the program will follow, after more ODC's are trained.
Method: An online questionnaire was send to three groups: 1. the trainee's, 2. the supervisor, 3. the guiding ODC's. All sections of the program (introduction, ICU, family guidance, OR) were questioned, with up to 10 items per section and space for open input. Data from the questionnaire, such as: time investment, usability and content of the program are collected.
Results: In December 2025, 5 trainees will have completed the training, and evaluation results will be presented. At the end of 2025, within every donation region in the Netherlands a new ODC will be trained according to the training program.
Conclusion: With this evaluation we show our experiences to develop a training program which assures competence, expertise and uniform practice for ODC's.
As Project group, we are proud to share this new developed training for ODC's in the Netherlands
